Tutoring is when the staff and volunteers help the children and youth complete their homework. It focuses on academic areas of weakness. Tutoring usually concentrates on spelling, grammar, reading, and math.
Practical Living and Read-Aloud are rotated through the month. Each area is described below.
Children are taught various life skills during Practical Living time. Topics covered are money management, cleanliness, tidiness, health and hygiene, including dental hygiene, eating out, among other topics.
Read-Aloud is when the children are read to by an adult. Stories are what make up our lives, and they can be used to inspire and teach.
Recreation is when the children and youth by age group participate in recreational activities" group games" or "arts and crafts" within the center's walls.
Bible Club is when the children are taught an appropriate Bible story that runs through the entire month.
The center ends with gathering together for Family Time. This time is lead by a staff member and provides for worship, prayer, emotional support, and an end of the day uplifting send-off.
AOH International does not discriminate, we serve all children regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, etc. Children can decide whether or not they want to participate in Bible Club and Family time.
Serve Children from K-12, and we provide partial scholarships for higher-level educational children. At the beginning of every school year, all students receive a backpack filled with school supplies, books, hygiene items, clothing, toys, and Bibles.
We support teachers with innovative resources, fully aligned with national curricula standards and global assessments training on an ongoing basis and in order to monitor programs outcomes and warranty educational success for all our students
The program costs $300 per student per school year. All donations are tax-deductible. There are several options to contribute to the AOH International ministry. Sponsorship dollars go directly toward staff, certified teacher wages, school supplies, and food.
